There is heaps of dog training information about – some gives the reader the wrong idea. There is certainly a lot of misinformation out there – something of which I am quite passionate to clarify. The underlying issue to success in dog training is to understand your dog – understand his mind and you will understand his behavioral traits. Behavior is learned from the pack (usually the mother and ultimately the pack leader) and what you are required to understand that you (and your family members) are your dog’s pack (even though you aren’t dogs) – being aware of this will enhance your dog training amazingly.Another basic issue that people need to comprehend is that if there is no apparent pack leader – the dog will be compelled to take it upon themselves to assume the role as the pack leader – and that my friends is when the problems start – because the pack leader calls the shots. From this – it makes sense that in this case your dog genuinely thinks that he is in control of your home. The basic mission of the pack leader is to protect the pack – this is where the majority of dog behavioural problems come from.
